Aneurysms Disease (Abdominal and Peripheral)

Aneurysm Disease occurs when a blood vessel weakens and bulges, posing a risk of rupture. Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) affect the aorta in the abdomen and can be life-threatening if they burst, often showing no symptoms until severe pain or internal bleeding occurs. Peripheral aneurysms develop in arteries outside the aorta, such as in the legs, and may cause pain, swelling, or clot formation. Risk factors include high blood pressure, smoking, and atherosclerosis. Treatment depends on size and risk, ranging from monitoring to surgical repair or stenting to prevent rupture.
